Classroom videos demonstrate strategies in action

With more than 11,000 students in its teacher preparation program, Western Governors University, an accredited online university based in Salt Lake City, was looking for robust content and video-based resources to supplement its teaching courses. By implementing Teachscape Learn, the university ensures that teacher candidates receive the most comprehensive educational experience. They see first-hand examples of pedagogically-sound teaching practices and are fully prepared before they enter the field.

Boosting engagement trains better teachers

The university chose to integrate research-based content and more than 200 videos from the Teachscape Learn Professional Learning System into its teacher pedagogy courses.

Course mentors reinforce principles with Learn content created by subject-matter experts. The Learn videos, which exemplify best practices in actual classrooms, give mentors specific examples of principles in action.

By implementing and using Teachscape resources, teacher candidates’ level of engagement during their preparation courses increased, resulting in higher pass and completion rates throughout the program.
